Public notification is a critical step in the planning process. If your event affects residents or businesses, you must provide public notification 30 days before the event date. This includes road closures or other disruptions and requires distributing notices to any impacted occupants by road closure, use of the right-of-way, or detours.

Public notification is a critical step in the planning process. If your event affects residents or businesses, you must provide public notification 30 days before the event date. This includes road closures or other disruptions and requires distributing notices to any impacted occupants by road closure, use of the right-of-way, or detours.

Notices must be distributed at least 30 days before the event date to provide adequate time for residents and businesses to plan accordingly.

Notification must cover all properties and businesses within the impacted area of the event, as determined by Tacoma Venues & Events.

Event details, including:
Date, time, and location of the event
Description of road closures or detours
Contact information for the event organizer
A map of the event layout, highlighting closures and alternate routes
A template for public notification is available to ensure compliance with Tacoma’s communication standards.

Event organizers must provide proof of notification to Tacoma Venues & Events, no less than 30 days prior to the event date.
Assistance
Event organizers can request assistance for distribution of tri-fold mailing public notifications. Fees will be applied.
