Tacoma Venues & Events Presents SkillShops Series: Permitting Public Space: How to Host Events on Tacoma Streets
Tacoma Venues & Events (TVE) continues its SkillShops series with Permitting Public Space: How to Host Events on Tacoma Streets. Registration is available at tacomavenues.org for this free virtual workshop taking place Monday, June 16 at 11 a.m. on Zoom.
This interactive session will provide event organizers with practical guidance on how to successfully activate Tacoma’s public right-of-way, including streets and sidewalks. Panelists from City of Tacoma departments and Pierce Transit will walk attendees through permitting updates, department-specific requirements, and street activation best practices. Whether planning a block party, parade, festival, or community gathering, this SkillShop will help planners of all experience levels navigate the process.
Panelists will include representatives from:
Tacoma Venues & Events
Planning and Development Services
Tacoma Police Department
Public Works Transportation and Street Operations
Risk Management
Pierce Transit
This workshop is the second in a two-part permitting series. While it complements Permits, Programs, and Resources, held on May 19, each SkillShop is designed to stand alone and attendance at the first session is not required. A recording of the May 19 session and related resources are available online.
