Special Event Review Committee 

The Special Events Review is a multi-agency team responsible for reviewing event applications comprised of various local agencies such as Police, Fire, Public Works, Health, Transit, Parks Tacoma, Liquor Enforcement, and more. 

Event Organizers may be required (or voluntarily attend) to present their event at a monthly review committee once a permit is submitted. These meetings are held virtually and are scheduled by Tacoma Venues & Events.

Translation Support for Special Event Permit Applications

If you need assistance with translation or interpretation services while completing your application, we are here to help.

Available Support:

  • Translation of permit applications and supporting materials into multiple languages.

  • Interpretation services for meetings with the Special Events Review Committee.

  • Assistance in completing forms or understanding permit requirements in your preferred language.

How to Request Assistance:

  • Contact the Tacoma Venues & Events as soon as possible to request translation support.

  • Specify the language needed and whether written translation or verbal interpretation is required.

  • Requests should be made at least 30 days in advance to ensure adequate time for coordination.
