Tacoma Venues & Events Announces Leadership Team; Department Staff Promoted

Tacoma Venues & Events (TVE) announced today the promotions of several key staff to lead multiple departments in the operation of the Tacoma Dome, Greater Tacoma Convention Center, Special Events, and Tacoma City Theaters. The move aligns the organization in four teams under the leadership of Department Director, Adam S. Cook. The news includes the announcement of a new Booking Director for the Tacoma Dome.

Cook. “These changes focus and align our team as we continue to provide legendary experiences for our clients and guests, and solid economic impact and value to the community.”

TVE’s leadership team and promotions include:

John McClees, who has served in event coordination at the Tacoma Dome since 1999, with added oversight to event management at the Greater Tacoma Convention Center since 2012, has been promoted to Deputy Director - Events. McClees’ previous experience includes athletics facility director positions at two state universities. His focus will include management of client and partner services, security, technical services, and event operations at the Tacoma Dome and Greater Tacoma Convention Center.

Tammi Bryant has been promoted to Deputy Director - Marketing, Business Development and Programming. Bryant began her career in marketing in concert promotion and served as a regional marketing director for Spectra before joining the TVE team in 2016. In her new role, she will oversee booking, special events, corporate partnerships, marketing, and community engagement.

McClees and Bryant join Josh Kropf, currently serving as Deputy Director – Operations. Kropf joined the TVE team in 2021, bringing more than ten years of venue operations experience to Tacoma.

Diane Hager has been promoted to Finance Manager. Hager has broad experience in managing accounting and finance teams, including more than ten years with Ticketmaster. Hager leads the financial services division including budgeting and event settlement. The finance department has also promoted Tiffany Bestwick and Joanne Deuermeyer to Management Analyst and Finance Assistant, respectively.

Jeff Brown, who began his professional career at the Tacoma Dome in 2000 as director of operations for the Tacoma Sabercats before serving as the Tacoma Dome event manager for nearly 20 years, has been promoted to Booking Director with primary focus on booking the Tacoma Dome. Brown has managed hundreds of events and is the foremost expert and lead storyteller for the Dome.

Hillary Brenner has been promoted to Marketing Director. Brenner has been making marketing magic for TVE since 2010 where she has advanced communications for the team through website design, social media marketing, and client engagement. She served as event planner prior to joining the team. Brenner will oversee communications and marketing for the department.

These promotions open up a number of positions including Senior Event Manager, Marketing Coordinator, and Event Coordinator. Tacoma Venues & Events operates the Tacoma Dome, Greater Tacoma Convention Center, and oversees ASM Global’s management of the Tacoma City Theaters (Pantages, Rialto, and Theater on the Square), the Tacoma Rainiers’ management of Cheney Stadium, and the City of Tacoma’s Special Events. The Tacoma Dome underwent a $30 million renovation in 2018 and routinely ranks in the top arenas in the world in Pollstar and Billboard based on attendance.
